Fragmenting "strategic areas of statewide significance"

"These are the suitability surfaces for the Florida Ecological Greenways Network. Note the large parcel that is part of the Florida Forever Projects that is west of Myakka River State Park. It is interesting to note all the strategic areas that have been identified as areas of Florida Significance that the 2050 plan identifies as rural residential subdivisions. 
The Sarasota County public passes a big bond issue to protect the strategic conservation lands and the state has identified the strategic areas of the County of statewide significance. And the planning department proposes to destroy it by fragmenting it with rural residential." More here.
